How to Make Milk Saffron?
✅ Ingredients (for 2 servings):
-
Milk – 2 cups (full cream preferred)
-
Saffron strands – 8–10 strands
-
Sugar – 2 tsp (adjust to taste)
-
Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp (optional, for aroma)
-
Chopped nuts – 1 tbsp (almonds, pistachios – optional)
✅ Instructions:
-
Warm the milk:
Pour milk into a saucepan and heat on low flame. Stir occasionally to avoid sticking. -
Soak saffron:
Take 2 tbsp warm milk in a small bowl, add saffron strands, and let it soak for 10–15 minutes (this releases the color and aroma). -
Add saffron and sugar:
Once the milk is hot (not boiling vigorously), add the saffron-infused milk and sugar. Stir well. -
Add cardamom and nuts:
Mix in cardamom powder and finely chopped nuts for extra flavor. -
Simmer:
Let it cook on low flame for 3–4 minutes so the saffron infuses completely. -
Serve:
Pour into cups and enjoy hot, or chill it in the fridge for a cool saffron milk drink.
💡 Tips:
-
For thicker texture, simmer milk longer (10–15 minutes) before adding saffron.
-
For extra richness, add a pinch of nutmeg or a few drops of rose water.
-
Avoid adding saffron to very hot boiling milk immediately—it loses some aroma.
